Note: Unlike every other member of this squad, Erp Joki began his military career in the United Earth Alliance. After completing a the Master’s Program in Peace, Mediation and Conflict Research at Åbo Akademi in Turku, Joki was recruited into the intelligence arm of the still-forming UEA government, and given basic combat training and top-secret clearance. He was a member of the very first unit of the now-famous Secret Corps. He proved an able fighter, and a fine field operative, but eventually grew tired of covert ops, and asked to be transferred to the 31st Company, specifically asking to be in Hawke’s own squad. His request was honored, but it put Joki in the strange position of having a much higher security clearance than his CO.
