Note: Zigmunt’s life began in an arcology in Louisiana on Earth. It was a rough environment for a small boy with a creative mind, and he was often mistreated. There are three suspicious hospital visits on record, and it’s likely that these are only the worst of the violence he encountered in his youth. Unlike many who began in that overcrowded crime-riddled environment, however, Zigmunt did not, himself, turn to violence. He focused on his art, winning praise, honors, contests, and – finally – scholarships. Mars Collegium was happy to have him when he applied. They even paid for his emigration to the red planet. He was a diligent and focused student who was well-liked by teachers, even if they saw little potential for him as an artist on a system-wide scale.
