Note: Stronger Mentats were held for longer evaluation to determine their full potential, and what danger they may pose to the system. Some of these with less practical specializations were sent home, but were monitored indefinitely by the DoPs. Others were recruited into the clandestine Mentat Core, and some uncooperative Mentats were sent to the old penal colony on Ceres, where they were branded, frozen, and left in stasis. Invented stories would be sent to the families about shuttle crashes or training accidents. The final fates of some of these mentats is, to this day, unknown.
