Note: When the RapUnsEl (Rapid, Unsheltered Elevator) was in use, ferrying people and goods from Venus Station One to the surface and back, it required constant monitoring due to the potential for drift, owing to the fact that VS1 was not in a stable geostationary orbit, but an artificially maintained static position over the equator. Simple drones were used to make the observations, which were fed directly to the VS1 control computer, and used to help keep the station in position.
