Note: The Mars City Museum was a popular tourist destination, and the skeletons were the most popular exhibit. In the early days of the colony, the bones of some large, earthlike creatures were found in the martian soil. It was major news, despite doubts surrounding the claims, and for almost five years there were people who believed that there had once been large life on Mars, with some theorising that the collision which precipitated the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event in the distant past had somehow transplanted some Earth-life (or, perhaps, just their bones) to Mars.
